START with Positive Thoughts

Some interesting words on the power of thoughts from Wayne Dyer from his book “You Will See It When You Believe It”: “Here is a mini-lesson on what thought is. Your desire to improve your life is really your thought to improve your life. Your will to live is really your thought to live. Your […]

March 30-Black Crown

I found this beer in grocery store from Anheuser-Busch brewery. It is a amber lager called Black Crown and features more body, color and hop character than the flagship lager Budweiser, it also has a slightly higher alcohol content at 6% ABV.

Coincidence-Jack Jensen influence

Do you believe in coincidences? I don’t. Four years ago a coach that I competed against in the 1980’s and really respected died on March 28, 2010. Unless you are from North Carolina you may have never heard of him but his name was Jack Jensen. He coached for 45 years at Guilford College in […]

March 29 – Hell’s Belle

Found this beer at a fund raising event to benefit United Way. Big Boss Brewing Company produces this beer they call Helle’s Belle. Big Boss is located in Raleigh, NC so this makes another North Carolina beer to add to my list. It is a fruity ale with very strong carbonation, with complex, spicy flavors […]

March 28-Summer Ale

Found a Samuel Adams seasonal a little early in grocery store called Summer Ale. It is a wheat ale brewed with lemon peel. Good refreshing taste. Contains 5.3% alcohol.Very solid beer from a Boston brewery.

John Wooden-Priorities based on Purpose

If I could recommend one book for a Basketball Coach to own it would be Practical Modern Basketball by John Wooden. The book is based on preparation and detail in almost every aspect of the game. It may not be suitable for coaching kids under 10 year olds but for any older age group […]

March 27-Stella Artois

Another Belgian Beer for the list-Stella Artois which is a very popular pale lager beer. Stella claims they have been brewing beer since 1366. You can find this beer just about anywhere in the US and most of the world. It contains 5.0% alcohol and it would be an upgrade from other mass produced beers but […]

March 26-Spring Blonde

Was very nervous picking a New Belgium Beer called Spring Blonde. I like most of them and have only had one that I just did not enjoy so I felt like maybe Spring Blonde was going to be a dud. Well I was surprised that I liked this Belgian Style Ale. It has 6.0% alcohol […]

March 25-Ruthless Rye IPA

Back in late February Sierra Nevada opened up a brewery in state of residency, North Carolina. The Tar Heel location is just south of Asheville, NC. Sierra Nevada headquarters is in Chico, CA and one of their seasonal brews is Ruthless Rye IPA. It is a solid beer but I would not choose it over […]
