October 8-Tartan Ale

It is the fall and it seems Marzen type beers are all around. I am going to attempt to drink a few Octoberfest style beers the next few weeks. Tonight I wanted to start out with a Virginia beer from Port City Brewing out of Alexandria, VA called Oktoberfest.

I couldn’t locate it so I settled on Tartan Ale a Scotch Ale from Port City. This is a good beer not spectacular but solid. This beer pours with a gigantic head. Tartan has a slight sweet taste and contains 5.5% ABV. This makes the third Port City beer I have had in 2014. I have had their Monumental IPA and Essential Pale Ale. Still on the hunt for the Oktoberfest.
