In the 1700s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content preserved his ales during the long voyage to India to quench the thirst of British troops. Today many beer drinkers enjoy IPA including me. I grabbed an IPA today to breakup the string of Octoberfest type beers.
The Colorado Beer I had was from Avery Brewing Company out of Boulder, CO. The beer’s name is Avery India Pale Ale and it checks in at 6.5% ABV. This is an excellent beer and I am thankful to that crafty brewer that discovered hops and increased alcohol was a good thing. As Avery states on their website “Brewed by hopheads for hopheads”
