October 29th-Brown-Dedicated to the Cape Fear HS Men’s Soccer Team

One of my sons is in his first year coaching HS soccer at the 4A level in North Carolina. He is the Head Boys & Girls Soccer Coach at Cape Fear HS in Fayetteville, NC. Tonight my wife I went to his 1st Round NCHSAA Boys State Play-Off Game against the Clayton HS Comets.

Cape Fear played most of the game down two men due to multiple yellow cards but managed to tie the game 2-2. They moved on to the 2nd Round of the State Play-offs as the result of a 7-6 Penalty Kick shoot out.

I got home very late from the game and grabbed a beer from the largest microbrewery in Colorado called Tommyknocker. The beer I choose to toast the Cape Fear Colts was Brown. It contains maple syrup and is 4.5% ABV. As the name suggest Brown is a Brown Ale. Nothing super special about this beer fair at best.

I might forget this beer I drank tonight in a couple years but I will not forget the soccer game I witnessed tonight. It was special to watch a young coach help his team overcame a lot of obstacles to live to play another day. Kudos to the Cape Fear Colts.
