October 21-Hoplanta IPA

Georgia beer on the list for tonight. Grabbing a Hoplanta IPA from Red Brick Brewery out of Atlanta, GA.  Beer debuted in 2011 and contains 6.2 % ABV. Solid beer that is dry and has a some what of a bitter finish.

October 20- Drink by 10/31/14 IPA-Kenny Biggs

What a great Monday night. My next door neighbor Kenny Biggs treated me to a world class California Beer from Stone Brewing called “Drink before 10/31/14 IPA”. This IPA is perfect and warrants it’s rating of 100 by Rate Beer. Stone is located in Escondido, CA. If this is the last beer I drink in […]

October 18-Wild Hop Pils

Changed up today and grabbed a New York Beer called Wild Hop Pils from Saranac Brewing Company out of Utica NY. Very solid beer and it contains 5.2% ABV. This pilsner has a little more hop than I expected.

October 19-Saranac Lager & Lemonade

After yesterday’s surprise on how good Saranac Wild Hop Pils was I went back to another Sarananc beer from New York called Saranac Lager & Lemonade. I will make this quick this fruit beer is a “lemon”. It joins the One and Done Club and it contains 4.2% ABV.

October 17-Red Seal Ale

Went with a California beer tonight from North Coast Brewing out of Fort Bragg CA called Red Seal Ale. It contains 5.5% ABV and is a pale ale. Beer Advocate and Rate Beer give this high marks and so do I.

October 16-Shiner Oktoberfest

Attended a function tonight at our university that had a “Ocktoberfest” theme. The planners did it right by having Bavarian music, German food, and a great selection of German brewed or Marzen style beers on hand. I grabbed a Texas Beer from Spoetzl Brewery out of Shiner TX called Shiner Oktoberfest. This Marzen style brew was […]

October 15-Punkin Ale

This year I have come across some great brewers including the Delaware beer I had tonight. I got to drink a spice beer called Punkin Ale from Dogfish Head Brewery out of Milton DE compliments of Kenny and Bonnie Biggs. This beer is brewed with baked pumpkins, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar. The beer contains […]

October 14-Omission Pale Ale

Decided to try a gluten free beer called Omission tonight from Widmer Brothers Brewing in Portland Oregon. The beer was  5.8 % ABV and just was not good. There will be no omission from “The One and Done” club for Omission it’s the newest member. I really hoped better from a Oregon beer.

October 13-Red Clay IPA

Had my second Sunken City Brewery beer tonight. Sunken City is a Virginia beer and is located in Hardy, VA. I got to share it with some good friends-Carey Read and Don Metzger. Don and his wife hosted a Chicken Bog for our group of friends. This Virginia beer’s name is Red Clay IPA. It […]

October 12-Avery India Pale Ale

In the 1700s one crafty brewer discovered that a healthy dose of hops and an increased alcohol content preserved his ales during the long voyage to India to quench the thirst of British troops. Today many beer drinkers enjoy IPA including me. I grabbed an IPA today to breakup the string of Octoberfest type beers. […]
