November 10-Chocolate Porter-Thanks Carey and Joanna Read

Chocolate Porter

I have two friends married to each other named Carey and Joanna Read. They are both great lovers of beer and have educated me on some great brews and breweries this past year. They very generously shared with me a beer from Hangar 24 Craft Brewery in Redlands California called Chocolate Porter. This beer is categorized as an Imperial or Strong Porter

This beer had the taste of chocolate and coffee you expect with just a hint of vanilla. 8.0% ABV and IBU rating of 47. Carey and I mildly disagreed on this beer. He wasn’t ga-ga over it but I thought it was very good. Gets high ratings from Rate Beer also.

  1. That’s the wonderful thing about today’s beer landscape. So many great breweries. We can disagree that one or another is best while agreeing that all of them are great! Carry on beer friend.

  2. Oh, I haven’t tried that one. I shall add it to my list, so thanks for the inspiration. I’m a big fan of Unicorn’s Chocolate porter. Mostly for the taste but also for the name. 🙂

    1. If you have any beer recommendations let me know.

      1. I have dozens. If you like a porter you might be a stout fan so i would reccomend Carlow, Irish Stout. Ive reviewed it and a few other good beers on my blog. But in short its like Guinness but better! 🙂
