November 27-St. Festivus compliments of Jimmy Bethea

Part of my family’s thanksgiving tradition includes deep fried turkeys, lot’s of friends, and wonderful food. This thanksgiving my wife and I deep fried ten turkeys that went to family, friends, and various non-profit organizations.

One of my friends from DC Jimmy Bethea gets a turkey each Thanksgiving and he spends time doing quality control as we carve the birds up. He checks the turkey wings to make sure they are done. Picture shows Jimmy on the right with two of my sons.

He also brings us wine and beer to try. My beer today is called St. Festivus a Maryland Beer from The Brewer’s Art that Jimmy brought us. I am a big fan of Seinfeld so the name resonated with me. Jimmy and I didn’t have to air any grievances as part of Festivus.

My son Geoff, Jimmy, and I sampled the St. Festivus together. This beer is a Belgian Strong Ale and contains 8.6% ABV. I rated this beer very good has nice spice taste to it.

The Brewer’s Art is a brewpub in Baltimore and it was voted America’s best bar in 2008 by Esquire Magazine. Another place to add to my bucket list to visit.
