December 5-India Ale

Excited to try a beer from England tonight. The brewer is Samuel Smith Old Brewery out of North Yorks and the beer is called India Ale. I mistakenly assumed it was a IPA but it is an Extra Special Bitter (ESB). The beer contains 5.0% ABV and IBU rating of 46. I would rate this beer very good.

This brewery was founded in 1758. The website states the well dug back 250 years ago still produces water for them today. The brewery actually has grey Shire horses similar to what Budweiser does. These horses still make deliveries 5 days a week close to the brewery. Photo below and I guess the clydesdales don’t have that delivery market cornered.
