In two weeks the START of my goal of drinking a different beer each day in 2014 will result in a FINISH. This journey to drink 365 beers has included great support from family and friends.
Two of those friends gave me a great surprise tonight. Kyle and Sarah Carter as a Christmas gift got me a membership in the Craft Beer Club. Tonight at 6PM the door bell rings and the UPS driver is there with that delivery. Beer club members receive four different domestic varieties every month. That’s a full 12-pack of rare craft beers (3 bottles each) from all over the United States. Tonight I am sampling one of those four, a D.L Geary Brewing beer called Pale Ale. Geary’s is located in Portland Maine. I believe that this beer is more of a English Pale Ale and would compare it to a Fuller’s ESB.
I have had a couple of Geary beers earlier this year and they included their London Porter and Hampshire Special Ale.The HSA was excellent when I had it back on April 15, 2014.
The Pale Ale pours a copper color and has bitterness to it. Contains 4.5% ABV. Solid choice and really indebted to my friends the Carters. Can’t wait to sample the rest of the 12 pack.
