December 25-Oatmeal Porter

Today’s beer was featured in the January 2015 edition of Southern Living in an article entitled Winter Beers, The Best of the South. Figured that would make for a good Christmas Beer and I was correct. Sitting on my patio enjoying a cool but sunny Christmas afternoon.

The beer is from North Carolina and comes from Highland Brewing Company out of Asheville, NC. Highland was the first brewery opened after the prohibition in Asheville in 1994.

The beer’s name is Oatmeal Porter and it is excellent. Oatmeal Porter contains 5.9% ABV and has IBU rating of 36. This is North Carolina Beer everyone should add to their bucket list. Glad Santa bought me this beer.
