One thing I have learned is that good friends have other good friends. This is a series of stories about “friends of my friends”. The post below is the story for August 13, 2015.
My goal in 2015 is to learn or get re-acquainted with 365 people and doing a daily post on the “the friend of a friend” is helping me get closer to my goal.
Amazing how you might go for months in a town like Lumberton not a seeing friend and then in the span of a couple of days you run into them multiple times. That happened to me on Saturday and then a few days later on Tuesday.
My wife and I went to New Bern, NC to attend the wedding of Harrison Masters the oldest son of John and Dr. Mary Ann Masters on Saturday August 8, 2015. We got to witness a beautiful wedding at Garber United Methodist Church.
The nuptials were followed by a fabulous reception held at New Bern Golf and Country Club. The club sits on the banks of the Trent River and offered some wonderful vistas.

The wedding had a number of folks we know from Lumberton including Dr. John Rozier. John works as an obstetrician-gynecologist in Lumberton, North Carolina and is affiliated with Southeastern Health. He received his medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine and has been in practice for 48 years.

He epitomizes the definition of class and always behaving as a gentleman. He treats strangers and family with respect and dignity.
It was great to spend some time with him and have him reminisce on a number of the families that were in attendance that he had helped deliver babies for. When you have been in practice as long as John Rozier your longevity allows you to watch babies you delivered get married and have babies of their own.
John is very supportive of a lot great causes in our community especially the arts. He is also still very active physically and he is a regular age group winner at the Rumba on the Lumber 5K road race. In fact as recently as 2014 he was placing in his age group.
I am glad that John stays in shape because his friend and wife Farleigh Rozier is a woman with lots of energy he needs to keep up with.

One Sweet Lady
If you live in Lumberton then you probably know who Farleigh Rozier is. I guess you can say you have celebrity status when people equate your name to some product. Farleigh Rozier is the queen of fudge. There is just nobody else that makes fudge as good as hers.
What makes Farleigh so unique is that she is not into selling her wonderful but giving it to organizations and non-profits that can utilize it as door prizes or auctioning it off. Her mouth-watering chocolate is being used to support all different kind of causes including the Lumberton Rotary. On Tuesday I accompanied the chancellor from UNC Pembroke at a Lumberton Rotary meeting and ran into Farleigh and John Rozier again.
It wasn’t a surprise our chancellor who was the speaker at the Lumberton Rotary club on Tuesday received some of Farleigh’s Fudge as a gift. Farleigh is an important member of Rotary and is one of the Paul Harris Fellows that are members.
Our chancellor got a sweet gift for speaking from a sweet lady. Farleigh and fudge the two are synonymous in Lumberton, NC
