A friend of a friend-Teresa Neal-Walt Neal-October 6

One thing I have learned is that good friends have other good friends. This is a series of stories about “friends of my friends”. The post below is the story for October 6, 2015.

My goal in 2015 is to learn or get re-acquainted with 365 people and doing a daily post on the “the friend of a friend” is helping me get closer to my goal.

We have people in our community that not only offer up a professional service but give of their time to serve personally also. Sometimes these individuals are new to the community but in many cases they have been residents of Robeson County for quite some time. One person that fits that bill is Dr. Walt Neal.

Walt is a board certified physician, specializing in Obstetrics & Gynecology. He is a highly experienced doctor, with 40 plus years of practice in the field. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University. There is no telling how many babies that Walt Neal has delivered but I do know he has a positive reputation in the community about caring about others.

His service to others doesn’t just extend professionally he also looks for ways to serve the community thru the church and other non-profits. He has been on mission trips, participated in week-end church conferences, served in church leadership roles and every Sunday when he is available he is part of First Presbyterian Church’s Praise Band helping them with vocals.

Walt and his wife Teresa have a great family.

The Special Couple

What happens when a physician, specializing in Obstetrics & Gynecology marries a nurse. Well you get a couple that loves babies. That couple doesn’t just love babies they love the people those babies grow up and become.  Teresa Neal loves people including her family and friends of which she has many. One of those friends is my wife.

In December 2012 one of their mutual friends Debra Dickerson-Feiling was getting married at our house in the front of our Christmas Tree. Teresa and several other friends made sure Debra had the best wedding experience. I am not sure who was more excited the evening of the wedding Debra the bride or Teresa.

Teresa like her husband Walt gives back to others especially the church. She like Walt is a member of the 8:30 a.m. Worship Praise Band.

Teresa has wonderful children and what can a better gift to a nurse who loves babies than to have them turn out to be a wonderful adults. If you meet her children you realize that her babies have become wonderful adults.
