A friend of a friend-Samantha DiPinto-Alfredo DiPinto-December 27

One thing I have learned is that good friends have other good friends. This is a series of stories about “friends of my friends”. The post below is the story for December 27, 2015.

My goal in 2015 is to learn or get re-acquainted with 365 people and doing a daily post on the “the friend of a friend” is helping me get closer to my goal.

My first year as a head college basketball coach at UNC Pembroke I inherited a guard from South Bend, Indiana named Alfredo DiPinto who was entering his sophomore year in 1985.  Alfredo’s parents immigrated to the United States from Italy and instilled in their son great values which included a great work ethic, the importance on family, and integrity.

He was a three year starter for me and graduated from the School of Business in 1988 and immediately found success as a financial planner. It is still a career he is involved with today. He works for Wells Fargo in Fayetteville, NC and has managed my accounts since he started in the business.

That work ethic is still evident today as he is up most morning before dawn for a one hour workout in the gym before getting into the office before 7:30a.m. That requires him driving 45 minutes from his home to his office in Fayetteville, NC.

After a 20 plus year career in financial planning he added some diversity to his life by opening up a restaurant called Alfredo’s Italian Restaurant which is located in Clinton, NC.

There is a nice article on his business at the link below.

The Friend of the Friend- SAMANTHA DiPINTO

Business Owner

Samantha is just as driven as her husband. She like Alfredo is also a UNC Pembroke graduate and is mom to a son named Graham who is a pre-vet student at NC State.

(L-R) Alfredo, Samantha, and Graham DiPinto.

His wife, Samantha, is the owner of Southern Style Barbecue and Fried Chicken on Martin Luther King Boulevard. If you ask most people from Sampson County NC they will tell you that this is a go to place for North Carolina barbecue.

So if you need a pro to manage your money, eat some great barbecue, or have a fine Italian meal go spend some time with Alfredo or Samantha DiPinto.
