North Carolina-Ukulele Academy-March 27

North Carolina People, Places, and Things-March 27

I am the dad to five adult children. As they were growing up I attempted to remind them they were special and to implore them to learn something new. My goal was to do that daily.

In 2016 my goal is to learn something new daily on the people, places, and things that make North Carolina special.

We recently conducted a search for a leader at UNC Pembroke and during the interview process the question of most effective marketing strategies came up. This individual was passionate about the power of radio ads. I have to give them credit because this post was prompted by a radio ad on Friday while driving on US 74 just outside of Leland NC.

The radio ad was for the Ukulele Academy in Wilmington NC. The ad mentioned the largest collection of ukuleles on the east coast-over 200 in stock. I have often used the quote when someone is carving out a living in a unique way “What a Country”. I just did not know that North Carolina had a gigantic Ukulele business and someone has that as their career path. Thanks to the power of radio I now know.

The Ukulele Academy  went on to say it’s not just a candy store for ukulele lovers- it’s higher learning, jams & concerts with int’l artists.

If you want to learn more visit their Facebook page

I also found a pretty nice YouTube video on the magic of the Ukulele. If your a fan get to Wilmington, NC.
