My daily post theme for 2017 is on Colleges and Universities.
The plan for starting my blog back in 2014 was at the urging of fellow coaching colleagues to share posts on leadership and/or motivation. Somehow that idea got derailed and turned into daily posts on one theme for an entire year.
In 2014 my daily posts were on the “Beer of the Day”, 2015 it was “A Friend of a Friend”, 2016 I wrote about “North Carolina”, and for 2017 I will focus on “Colleges and Universities”.
I have been associated with colleges since I was 18 and I love them. I have coached/worked at four different universities and in my professional and personal travels visited 100’s more. Each college has something in its history that I want to share that to me make it unique or personal.

The amenities that you can find on a college campus are wide ranging. One the oldest and best known is the ice cream you can purchase at Penn State.

Berkey Creamery is the name of the venue where students and residents of Pennsylvania can get the fill of ice cream.
Located at The Pennsylvania State University’s main campus in State College, PA, its ice cream has long served the area, celebrating 152 years in 2017! Its purpose on campus is to serve the College of Agricultural Sciences in educating students and providing a short course available through the University. Two particular people who took a light version of the course and later the full short course work are Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, famous for the wildly popular Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.
This year the Creamery’s statistics revealed that they serve 1.5 million scoops a year, or if stacked one by one the height would equal 100 Empire State Buildings.
