My daily post theme for 2017 is on Colleges and Universities.
The plan for starting my blog back in 2014 was at the urging of fellow coaching colleagues to share posts on leadership and/or motivation. Somehow that idea got derailed and turned into daily posts on one theme for an entire year.
In 2014 my daily posts were on the “Beer of the Day”, 2015 it was “A Friend of a Friend”, 2016 I wrote about “North Carolina”, and for 2017 I will focus on “Colleges and Universities”.
I have been associated with colleges since I was 18 and I love them. I have coached/worked at four different universities and in my professional and personal travels visited 100’s more. Each college has something in its history that I want to share that to me make it unique or personal.

So today is April’s Fool Day and I got wondering about great pranks that have occurred on a college campus. Back in 2015 I wrote a post about one of the funniest stories I ever heard that involving a prank amongst administrators on a college campus. That story is below.
I went online searching for great college pranks and one story that kept popping up on my search occurred in 1973 on the campus of Texas A&M University. The prank was the installation of a huge bra atop Texas A&M University’s signature university building know as the Academic Building. The video below memorializes the event.
The prank was committed by artist-in-residence at the College of Architecture and Environmental Design, Dick Wray, and his accomplice Scott Smith. Within 30 minutes the police arrived there were apparently no charges or any damage done.
Texas A&M is the oldest public institution in the state of Texas and is a great university. That is no joke.
