My Dad Growing Up In Morristown NJ
My dad’s birthday is today. He would have been 99. He was born in Morristown NJ on September 27, 1919 and died there in March of 1991. He is buried at Holy Rood Cemetery off of Whippany Rd. in Morristown NJ
Here is a picture of my dad F.D. Kenney from the late 1960’s
Growing up in Morristown NJ as a small boy in the late 1920’s and early 1930’s had to look different and I went to see if I could find photos from that era. For my Morristown friends these may be of interest.
These photos below are of the hospitals in Morristown. My dad grew up close to Memorial Hospital in Morristown. My mom worked at All Souls for a period of time. Greystone was the State Psychiatric Hospital
Photo is of Morristown High School. My dad graduated from Morristown HS in 1937-and so did all of my siblings. The school is still there today on Early St in Morristown NJ.

Happy Birthday Dad!
Thank you, Coach Kenney for the reminders of Morristown! John and I lived in Parsippany and later Boonton when we were first married. We lived in NJ for 8 years. I worked in Morristown on Washington Street right off the square for 4 of those years. I really enjoyed strolling around the square shopping or having lunch. Our daughter was born at Morristown Memorial. Thanks again for the memories and Happy Heavenly Birthday to your Dad.
