Back in the 70’s there was a Band called Rare Earth. Their best known song was “Get Ready”. The drummer was also the lead singer and could belt it out. They were singing about a woman that could make them feel good.
So here we are in 2018, almost 20 years into the new millennium and the world is about to totally change the way they raise meat products from beef to chicken to pork to seafood. It’s not going to happen before Christmas and possibly not for several years down the road. But is getting close to reality.
When the FDA is holding meetings to determine what to call the new product the cat is already halfway out of the bag. The research has been going on for years and the progress has been tremendous.
Cultured meat or Clean meat or Craft meat or Vitro meat or Lab Grown meat and various other names have been tossed around.
The first lab grown hamburger showed up in 2013. And one company says it will be selling beef by 2021, less than 3 years away.
People get ready! Those people across this country that want to do away with hog farms and chicken houses and cattle ranches because they think stores can grow their own meat in the back of the grocery store might one day get their way.
