Deep Frying Turkeys
On Thursday I will cook 15 turkeys for family and friends. I started thawing out some of those turkeys this morning.
By Wednesday evening they will be ready to move from thawed to fried. Picture below are my wife Mira and I looking over the turkeys on Wednesday evening and my turkey frying set-up.
I have been doing this since 1999 and owe a big debt of gratitude to a friend I met while living in Rock Hill SC named John Holmes. A link to story on John and his wife Mandy can be found here
Over the years I have been asked to share turkey frying advice with different friends. One of those is Eric Dent who has moved to Florida. While living in North Carolina he would often be my turkey frying assistant. On Thursday he moves from assistant to being his own turkey frying master chef. His wife Amy has got him his own turkey frying set-up.

Here are some turkey frying pics of me.
Cooking turkeys with peanut oil can be a recipe for disaster if you don’t follow safety tips.
In addition to those safety guidelines above make sure the turkey is COMPLETLY thawed. You can go on YouTube and see what happens when things go wrong.
There is also a great video maybe a little long on how to deep fry safely.
