December 18, 2018 My Christmas Playlist
Post by John Rancke
We are 7 days away from Christmas Day. I play Christmas music the entire month of December on my computer. I will occasionally add a song as I did this year with Leona Lewis, but it is a pretty consistent playlist. I’m sure you have yours.
The greatest Christmas song I have ever heard was always played on Christmas Eve at the Candlelight service at First Presbyterian Church. It was sung by the youth choir and each Christmas Eve those former choir members that were home from college would join the present-day choir to perform “Were You There on That Christmas Night”. I would cry every Christmas Eve. I still do today when I hear it. I don’t have a copy of the Youth choir singing but I have a copy that will have to do:
Were You There on that Christmas Night
Aaron Neville Oh Holy Night
Elvis and Martina McBride Blue Christmas
The Ronettes Sleigh Ride
Band Aid Do They Know It’s Christmas
The New Christy Minstrels We Need a Little Christmas
Darlene Love Christmas Baby Please Come Home
Martina McBride Oh Holy Night
Wham Last Christmas (Pudding Mix)
Leona Lewis One More Sleep
The Drifters I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas
Leona Lewis I Wish it could be Christmas Everyday
John Lennon So This Is Christmas
Mariah Carey All I want For Christmas is You
Darlene Love All Alone on Christmas with Bruce Springsteen’s Band and the late Clarence Clemmons on Sax
