Each year the blog takes on a different focus. In 2019 the goal is for each post to bring you the reader a lesson, quote, message, or story that can help you grow.

Science Based Strategies

Each of us has a belief system that we use to define our reality. Sometimes our beliefs come from evidence based (SCIENCE) and sometimes from faith based. Our belief system is part of what helps us change and grow.

sky is not limit

Maybe part of your belief system can be improved if you look at the science of how people change. On New Year’s Day I came across an article in NY Times by Susan Shain.

The article is called How to Crush Your Habits in the New Year With the Help of Science

Susan tells us in her article that every resolution is created by habits. Change starts with creating new habits. So if you want to change yourself, that’s where you need to start. The article has seven science-based strategies for you to add to the reality you can change.

Two that I particularly enjoyed learning about are “Break it Down” and “Celebrate”. Each of those techniques has evidence backing them up as effective.

Read the article and let science increase your belief that you can change.
