Two weeks ago I attended a PGA Golf Tournament the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte NC. I got to do this with my youngest son. We had a great time but we did encounter a few idiots
I heard and observed some things that made me say REALLY.
Here is my list of things that made me say REALLY.
- My son and I were standing on the 9th tee box literally 10 feet from the golfers. Fans start commenting “Nice Mullet” to PGA professional Pat Perez-REALLY someone is going to spend $65 on a ticket to watch the best golfers in the world and make fun of someone hair. Pat did not respond to the man but told his caddie; “Nothing like a another man complimenting you on your hair”
- The homes on Quail Hollow are fantastic. This is a neighborhood on the south end of Charlotte with luxury homes in a gated community. That means pretty exclusive. Some homes screamed stay away. The one below didn’t want anyone walking thru their backyard. It had a pretty wide creek along with a rock wall protecting their backyard. Apparently that wasn’t enough for the homeowners they wanted a third level of deterrent. So a wrought iron fence goes up to keep people out. REALLY!
- The conversations people have walking around on a golf course are mind boggling. Obscenity laced descriptions of work, drinking, sexual conquests, and of other people’s flaws. REALLY
- The mark-up on concessions. $4.00 for a bottle of water-REALLY!
Despite all of above-what struck me was the beauty of the golf course-that was my favorite REALLY
