Each year the blog takes on a different focus. In 2019 the goal is for each post to bring you the reader a lesson, quote, message, or story that can help you grow.
When you come back from vacation people ask well how was it? For my wife and I our trip to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas caused each of us to experience sensory OVERLOAD.
Let me give you some examples.
Shopping-My wife walked into multiple hotel/casinos to check out the many design features. We were blown away to see the that almost all of them had a mall. Caesars Palace–Bellagio–The Venetian not only had a mall but some of the most grandiose architectural features you will ever find.
Lights-It has been estimated that Las Vegas has nearly 15,000 miles of lighted neon tubing on the strip and downtown.
Sounds and Sights-A walk down the Strip in Las Vegas in filled with all kinds of sights and sounds that I am not capable of describing-watching the video below will give you an idea of the OVERLOAD you have to process but even this video doesn’t capture the intensity of some of the moments I experienced.
OVERLOAD occurs when a person experiences too much sensory stimulation and cannot handle it all. One example is we stop processing especially our ability to think rationally. Another is we become frustrated and easily angered.
Glad to be back to environment that is not as taxing.
