Travel
TRAVEL provides us experiences and perspective.
This past month I have sat on the banks of Intercoastal Waterway and feasted on seafood with golfing buddies, peered over the rim of the Grand Canyon, drove thru the Nevada desert, spent time on the iconic Route 66, spend time traveling thru Amish farms in Pennsylvania, saw my first ever Elk, marveled at the Hoover Dam, relaxed in a South Carolina backyard that had been transformed into a Caribbean resort, and have been overwhelmed by the neon of Las Vegas.
I realize that I am blessed to have the time and resources to TRAVEL. I like many in retirement made a commitment to TRAVEL. I am attempting to keep that promise.
Every time I travel even if the destination is what many would consider local I try to see if I can have an experience that will broaden my mind or increase my gratitude. When I approach a trip in that way very seldom am I disappointed.
It is true that often our attitude about TRAVEL often impacts our gratitude on what we experience.
Fathers Day weekend driving on rural county road 20 miles from my house and near the NC/SC state line I saw a deer, a flock of wild turkeys, and several hawks. Seeing these animals always makes me pause and reflect on what a fantastic world we live in.
Can’t wait to see what the month of July will bring.
