Pumpkin
Over the last two weeks I have been bombarded by marketing messages involving pumpkins, pumpkin spice, or pumpkin themed menu items.
I have been asked if I wanted to try PUMPKIN lattes, Pumpkin donuts, Pumpkin beer, Pumpkin bread, and Pumpkin pie.
I have seen two customers at grocery stores purchasing pumpkin spice. For the record most pumpkin spices include some combination of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and ginger. For instance McCormick Pumpkin Pie Spice does not have pumpkin as an ingredient.
I read an article where the grocery store Trader Joe’s has at least 70 pumpkin related food items in the store during the fall.
As the weather turns cooler people apparently have an affinity for the flavor.
I have to confess that I will probably try at least one PUMPKIN themed product before Thanksgiving. It won’t be coffee or a donut but probably a Pumking Beer
EDITORS Note
On Thursday morning after I wrote this I found out that David Butler from Wilmington NC brought me a beer from Aleworks called Pumpkin that I also need to try.
