Ideas
I heard it said one time that one of the greatest gifts God gives each of us is ideas.
So how do you receive these gifts and more importantly how do you use them?
My take on ideas is this. An idea or a dream is God touching you, speaking to you, and sharing with you some step you need to take to grow. There is a catch with ideas they have to be acted upon to become a gift. How do we process all the ideas many of us have.
I have an idea list that I keep in my Franklin/Covey Planner.
A great habit to get into is to record your ideas. Don’t worry if you have more than you can possibly take action on but record them.
I attempt to write down my ideas and look at that list on a regular basis. From there I attempt to evaluate if that idea needs to become part of a future goal or daily action item.
I have to remind myself all the time there is a difference between a good idea and the right time for an idea. Sometimes an idea about places to explore may conflict with a time in your life where other obligations will take precedent.
Maybe another way of saying how to evaluate an idea is it aligned with your life’s purpose, mission, and goals. If the answer is NO that does not mean the idea isn’t good it just may not be the right time.
Here are some thoughts on ideas from Mike Vardy that I got from reading an article he wrote.
