September 30-Double Simcoe
Some days with no warning and when you least expect it a treat comes your way. Since last Monday my weather pattern has been gray, drizzle, and blah. Today which is Tuesday my treat was clear & sunny skies and temps in the 70’s. My evening even got better when a beer quite frankly I […]
September 29-Key West
This year I have been surprised by what states have a large number of breweries and what states don’t. For instance before this year I had no idea that North Carolina had so many and apparently Florida has just a handful. Considering populations I found that odd. So tonight I found a Florida Beer from […]
September 28-Saison DuPont Ale
Just got back from Alabama and have time for one beer before bed. Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. This beer is slightly hoppy and contains 6.5 % ABV. Brewed by Brasserie DuPont, Tourpes Belgium http://www.brasserie-DuPont.com
September 27-Pliny the Elder-Joanna Read
This past weekend has been a blast attending a SEC football game at Auburn AL. Our group of nine made a full day out of it by getting to the stadium 6 hours before kick-off and taking in all the pageantry and campus atmosphere that is college football in the south. We still had time […]
September 26-Snapshot
Snapshot is 5.0% ABV and this is a wheat beer. Sorry for not having a better write-up but on the road traveling to Auburn, AL. Beer was dry and had a combination flavor of sour and citrus. Colorado beer. Beer is from New Belgium Brewery http://www.newbelgium.com
September 25-Skinny Dip
When you attempt to drink a different beer everyday for a year sometimes you have to drink what you can find. Tonight it is a low alcohol and calorie beer from New Belgium Brewing called Skinny Dip. This Colorado beer used to be called Loft but it went under a minor recipe change and got […]
September 24-Spring Horning
Another opportunity to sample a California beer from a new brewery for me. The brewery is Anderson Valley Brewing Company out of Boonville CA. Boonville is a town of about 1,000 located in Northern California’s Mendocino County. Founded in 1987, the Anderson Valley Brewing Company brewed out of a 10-barrel brewhouse, located in the lower […]
September 23-Blacktop Blonde
I am excited that on Saturday I am going to get to tailgate and watch a Southeastern Conference (SEC) football game at Auburn, AL. Auburn University will be hosting Louisiana Tech the alma mater of Terry Bradshaw-Pittsburgh Steelers QB and Fox TV Analyst. I am really excited to be making this road trip with 7 […]
September 22-Burton IPA
Getting to drink a beer tonight from another New York brewer that I have not had before. The brewer is Southampton Publick House. The beer I selected is their Burton IPA. I learned that this English Pale Ale is modeled after a style of ale that comes from the famous English brewing city of Burton-on-Trent. To […]
September 21-Schwarzbier
My alma mater is East Carolina University and last night they put a whipping on the UNC Tar Heels in college football 70-41. ECU is located in Pitt County which is also home to Duck Rabbit Brewery which is located in Farmville NC just about 8 miles from the East Carolina campus. To celebrate the […]
