Recap
For the month of June I took on another 30 Day Challenge. My goal was to watch one TED Talk every day.
I am happy to report I accomplished the challenge. Even more excited on the number of people who joined me this past month. I really appreciate Dawn Whitley, Annette Burke, Tina Bullard, Jeff Neelon, Bonnie Biggs, Carolyn Watson, David Ruth, Paula Roach, Linda Branch, Charlie Noble, and Mike Collins. Thanks for being accountability partners. Hope you will consider joining me again next month for a new challenge.
30 Day Challenges create habits. Having a daily habit of listening to new ideas about leadership, communication, interpersonal relationships, and happiness all made me think and reflect. Listening to my friends it had the same effect on them.
Today’s post is a RECAP of those experiences.
I have decided against listing every single TED Talk and instead profiling some of the videos that impacted me.
June 1-Harvard Study on Adult Development
June 2-3 Secrets of Resilient People-Lucy Hone
June 5-Art of Misdirection-Apollo Robbins
June 15-David & Goliath-Malcolm Gladwell
June 19-The Power of Believing You Can Succeed-Carol Dweck
June 21-Stop Waiting for Life to Happen-Peter Sage
June 22-How Great Leaders Inspire Action-Simon Sinek
June 25-Technology of Story Telling-Joe Sabia
This 30 Day Challenge has brought forward lots of interesting concepts that I need to decide how to process. Do I accept these ideas and concepts as true, do I attempt to add them as daily habits and rituals, and how do I grow from what I listened to?
My RECAP is this. TED Talks can be seeds of personal growth. We grow by having thoughts which lead to action, action turns into habits, and habits become our character.
Tomorrow is July 1 and it is on to a new 30 Day Challenge. Consider joining.
