Hatchet
Part of the August 30 Day Challenge “Do Something New” I am doing with others had my friend Jeff Neelon take part in Axe or HATCHET throwing.
He did this at a place called Jack Axe Throwing located in North Myrtle Beach SC. If you want to watch Jeff he posted a video.
HATCHET is another word for axe and I was at a brewery in Southern Pines NC called HATCHET Brewing trying out some new beers. I had a fantastic time being with some great friends and enjoying two new beers for me.
My two new beers at HATCHET included the Solid IPA and The Void. I really loved the The Void.
HATCHET Brewing also had unlimited axe throwing available for just $10.00. I decided since Jeff Neelon had already beat me to that new activity I would focus on a more subtle new activity. Drinking some new craft beers.
I have also traveled to Dirtbag Ales twice since COVID 19. It is located right up I-95 from Lumberton NC in Hope Mills NC. I got to visit them in August and I got to sample a couple of new beers there also. I had Blactobacillus and Amber Managment.
Dirtbag Ales also has had a HATCHET throwing cage located on the property. I have witnessed good friends Joe and Janna Osman, Joe and Beth Terranova, and sisters Lauren and Molly Metzger toss some axes.
Apparently axe or HATCHET tossing in not a new thing to everyone in my social circle but for that matter either is sampling new craft beers. I recommend sticking with just one of these new things at a time.

Just a little “tidbit” about the owner of Dirtbags. Several years ago, he came to our store ( Grapes and Hops) in Hope Mills to get a home brewing kit. From his joy in making his own brew, his brewery evolved and his beer is now sold in our stores.
