A friend of a friend-Raleigh Forrest-Tommy Forrest-June 14

One thing I have learned is that good friends have other good friends. This is a series of stories about “friends of my friends”. The post below is the story for June 14, 2015.

My goal in 2015 is to learn or get re-acquainted with 365 people and doing a daily post on the “the friend of a friend” is helping me get closer to my goal.

On Friday the youngest of our five children graduated from high school. Over the past 13 years of school our son Mack has become friends with five other young men. Those five are Drew Bollinger, Hayden Martin, Will Everett, Jace Ward, and Raleigh Forrest. Raleigh parents are Tommy and Sheila Forrest and they are good friends of our family.

Tommy is an excellent chiropractor and has a real nice blog if you want to take a peek at it.

Tommy also has a website for his practice Forrest Sport and Family Chiropractor

Tommy has roots in Texas and received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University. He has his Master’s Degree from Indiana State University along with his doctorate from Life College in Atlanta.

Tommy  has been involved in sports healthcare for over 20years. He began his career by working camps for the NBA San Antonio Spurs and the Atlanta Hawks. He also was the head trainer for Life University’s track team where we won 3 national titles in 4 years.

From 1991-1996 he worked at Southeaster Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, NC in the Sport Medicine Department and had the opportunity to work with the area schools atheletic programs.

After graduating from chiropractor school he worked in a clinic in Fayetteville where he learned the importance of family healthcare. He adjusted newborns as well as the elderly which highlighted the importance and benefits of a healthy spine for all ages.

In 2001 he opened Forrest Sports & Family in Lumberton, NC and remain committed to providing the quality of care, and level of service our community deserves.

So if you or someone you know have been injured in a car accident, a work or sports related injury, or a
suffering from back pain, neck pain, or headaches I recommend you check out  Forrest Sports & Family in Lumberton, NC.

Tommy’s son Raleigh is an amazing athlete and young man. I am happy that Raleigh and his dad are such good friends. Raleigh and my son Mack wlll both attend East Carolina University in the fall.

The Friend of a Friend-RALEIGH FORREST

A baseball dad and son

Raleigh has played baseball since he was four of five and has always excelled. When he was nine I got the chance to coach alongside his dad on a recreational coach pitch league that both Raleigh and Mack were part of.

This past year Raleigh was part of a high school team that advanced to the NCHSAA State Championship.Raleigh played shortstop and pitched for the Lumberton Pirates.

He has had some great baseball moments and has been to share many of them with his dad. In 2008 he was on a Dixie Youth All-Star team that won the North Carolina State Championship and finished second in the World Series for that event. The next year his team won the World Series.

Raleigh is more than just a baseball player he is an excellent student. He graduated from high school Summa Cum Laude and as a member of the National Honor Society. In the Forrest family educaation is highly valued and emphasized.
