A friend of a friend-Wyatt Clark-Stephanie Prevatte Clark-December 29

One thing I have learned is that good friends have other good friends. This is a series of stories about “friends of my friends”. The post below is the story for December 29, 2015.

My goal in 2015 is to learn or get re-acquainted with 365 people and doing a daily post on the “the friend of a friend” is helping me get closer to my goal.

Today I am experiencing something rare. Not only do I have a day off from work but I don’t really have any agenda. When I have a day like this it causes me to take the time and reflect. My thoughts today when back to past Christmas in our home with small children all be in excited for the gifts that they had received. Today with all adult children that is not the case.

I did think about friends that have small children. Yesterday I posted about Rex and Kelli Willoughby who have three children and today I want to talk about a Lumberton, NC family friend for close to 30 years-Stephanie Prevatte Clark.

(L-R) Marilynn Prevatte and Stephanie Prevatte Clark.

Stephanie is the youngest of two daughter of Tonnie and Marilyn Prevatte. The Prevatte’s have been friends of ours for a long time. Stephanie spent many a night babysitting one of our children.

Stephanie attended college at UNCC and had a very successful professional career including time spent in Boston. Today Stephanie is married with three small children living in Huntersville, NC.

We have vacationed with Stephnie’s family, we have celebrated Halloween with  them, we have watched our children grow up together, we have celebrated weddings/anniversaries/birthdays with them, and we have Kenney/Prevatte family memories that will never fade away.

One of those memories is being at the Prevatte’s home on either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

As I reflected on Christmases gone by I began to smile knowing that young families like Stephanie and her husband Wyatt Clark who are still experiencing the Christmas joy with small children.

Wyatt also has a father-in-law in Tonnie Prevatte that is fanatical about saltwater fishing . Lucky for Wyatt that he shares the same love of the sport of saltwater fishing.

This past month Wyatt was recognized for all of his hard work  by being named “business person of the year” by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. The company (WAC Contracting) also won the award for best entire house remodel in the $500,000-$750,000 category.

They do some amazing work and a link to their company site is below.

Glad I got a day off and reflect on Stephanie and her amazing family-it made me smile.
